The purpose of this documentation is to explain the different processes of assigning submissions to Reviewers in your site. There are many ways in which you can go about assigning submissions to your reviewers.
The first option is to turn “Assignments: OFF”, when the assignments button reads OFF this means that manual assignments are off and all submissions will be automatically assigned to all reviewers within that reviewer group. One thing to note is that once assignments are OFF if assignments are toggled back ON, the assignments will be removed from the reviewers panel however any prior rankings previously completed will remain intact for that submission.
The second option is to turn “Assignments: ON”. This will allow you to choose how you would like to assign the submissions to your reviewers. There are two ways of achieving assignments with this option. For more information, please see the documentation on theses two ways here: Manual Reviewer Assignments and Automatic Reviewer Assignments.
The third option to create assignments is by using triggers to assign submissions to reviewers. This can be a little more complicated so it is important to have a good understanding of your reviewer process as well as how to use triggers. You can view further information on creating triggers here: Configuring Triggers Within your Site.
